. . . so many things that touched it
throughout the many years.
So many hands have been there
and arms have held me dear.
As I look through these letters,
kept so carefully,
I see lives shared
and opened up
offering friendship there for me.
For without sharing our most inner thoughts
the care is but an empty shell,
one that looks real to eyes that see,
but it's the heart that truly tells.
As I hold the pages in my hands and
read the words so true.
I realize through all these times
I could always count on you.
My heart remembers not only
what my eyes have seen,
but rather what each moment and
each kindness really means.
The words upon these pages tell a
story of loving times . . .
It isn't words that tell the truth
it's the heart that reads between the lines.
If I had but only one friend to see me through
each day
It's you that I would want beside me,
. . . you who I would want to stay.
"Shine out among them like beacon lights,
holding out to them the Word of Life."
Philippians 2:15,16
