My first novel, WEB OF INTRIGUE, was published by Bethany House in the late 1999. Since that time, I have been consumed by OWEG and my Life Coaching Career. (Not to say that there will not be another novel one of these days!)
My television writing credits include:
ANOTHER WORLD, ROMANCE THEATER, KNOTS LANDING, FANTASY ISLAND among many others. Also, many, many animated cartoons: SCOOBY DOO, FAT ALBERT, THE HULK, TEENAGED MUTANT NINJA TURTLES, HUCKLEBERRY HOUND, JEM (to mention only a few) ~ my mentor. in Hollywood. was the wonderfully talented William Hanna, of Hanna/Barbera fame.
He took me under his wing and taught me everything about animation writing. He was a wonderful friend to me. I miss him so very much.
I imagine you're asking yourself, 'How could she write for shows like 'ANOTHER WORLD' if she is a Christian?' My answer would be, "I was, and am, a Christian. Most of these shows were written during the 80's & early 90's when television was a much tamer landscape. Could I write for a lot of these shows today? No. But God has given me a new direction for my talents. (Talent on loan from God! R.L.")

MORE ABOUT MISTY
First and foremost, I am a Christian, a wife, a mother and grandmother. And, in November, 2008, a Great-grandmother!
I am also a Life Coach ... helping women to realize their dreams, as they find the life God intended them to have. Together, we fight for 'joy' ... learning to listen to God. To find the priorities and move forward on the path God laid for each of us. It is an amazing calling and I feel so blessed to have been given this gift.
And I am, most certainly, an Ordinary Woman with an Extraordinary God.
Born in East Texas (once a Texan, always a Texan) . . . my father's work took us to South Dakota and then to Minneapolis, Minnesota. My own big dream of working in Hollywood (that began growing in my heart when I was about 6) finally became a reality- and as a single mom - whose children were pretty much on their own by then - I moved to Los Angeles, California.
It was the most wonderful time. I have always loved the movie and TV business. I've had the opportunity to work and mingle with the most incredibly talented people. Each day was a great adventure.
Hollywood was where I met, in 1985, and 'finally' :-) married my wonderful husband, actor Joseph Taggart, in 1987. He knocked my soxs off when he walked into a theater where one of my plays was being produced. He had been cast in my play by the director - and from the moment I saw him, I knew I would marry him. God is good!
So we became a 'blended' family. Each of us was divorced, with 3 children, ... and that led to 13 grandchildren! WOW!
As time passed, and we began growing older, it was clear Hollywood didn't tolerate aging very well. We both became painfully aware that some changes had to be made.
I became a novelist and Joe moved into movie production. We both have 'pangs' of remorse when we think of the 'good ole days', but God has opened new doors for us at this time in our lives.
God was clearly not finished with either one of us. He has even better plans.
